ABOUT THE RESIDENCY

New York-based KEIGWIN + COMPANY began their residency in Côte d’Ivoire with local workshops in cities and villages alike. In Ethiopia, they worked with Destino Dance Company to create a collaborative piece for dancers of all abilities. KEIGWIN + COMPANY’s time in Ethiopia commenced with a workshop with members of the African Union who were in town for their general assembly. Both parties were surprised to dance together and inspirationally opened themselves up to a new way of connecting with each other. KEIGWIN + COMPANY wrapped up their residency in Tunis, Tunisia by creating a 14-minute collaborative work with a local group of artists that was presented as the finale in a performance with KEIGWIN + COMPANY repertoire.

FROM THE TRAVEL BLOG
